Center for Survey Research Launches CSR R.O.A.R Virtual Focus Group Service
The Center for Survey Research (CSR) at Penn State Harrisburg has launched CSR R.O.A.R. (Real Opinions, Actionable Results), a new virtual qualitative research service designed to deliver fast, affordable, and high-quality insights from Pennsylvania residents.
CSR R.O.A.R. offers an innovative, shared-cost model that allows multiple organizations to participate in professionally moderated focus group sessions. Clients purchase dedicated 30-minute discussion blocks within a structured 90-minute session, enabling them to explore targeted research questions, test messages or materials, and gain deeper understanding of audience perspectives.
The service is designed to complement traditional quantitative research by helping organizations add real voices to their data. Each block is conducted across two focus groups, providing feedback from a diverse cross-section of Pennsylvania adults.
“CSR R.O.A.R. reflects our commitment to expanding access to high-quality research,” said Nicole Sturges, CSR’s Assistant Director and R.O.A.R. Manager. “This model allows organizations and researchers to gather meaningful qualitative insights quickly and efficiently, without the cost and complexity of a full custom study.”
R.O.A.R. sessions are offered three times per year—in October, February, and May—with results delivered within weeks. Clients receive a comprehensive data package, including transcripts and documentation of methodology.
Organizations interested in participating in upcoming R.O.A.R. sessions are encouraged to contact CSR at CSRROAR@psu.edu to learn more.
