Project Highlight of the Month: Pennsylvania Game Commission r3 Project
published 7/1/2017 12:00:00 AM
The goal of this R3 initiative is to learn more about the hunting public and begin to address the loss of hunters in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Game Commission believes science can be effectively employed to positively impact future hunting participation. This data analysis project is one facet of a much larger, comprehensive hunter recruitment, retention and reactivation (R3) initiative. The Pennsylvania State Data Center developed a series of data dashboards to better understand hunters license purchasing and hunting behavior, and the Center for Survey Research has conducted numerous focus groups so the PGC can better tailor marketing schemes and agency efforts in attracting individuals to purchase a hunting license, attend hunter education courses, and utilize shooting range permits.
